The Avalon Community Rink at John Lake Park

It’s the best time of the year!
The Rink at John Lake Park is now officially open to the public! 🏒⛸
Hockey nets will be available for use in the next few days 🥅
We ask that you keep the following in mind when using the rink:
-please keep a 3 meter distance from others
-maximum of 30 people on the ice surface at a time
-helmets must be worn at all times
-the ACA assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen items, injury, damage to personal property or any mishaps while using the ice
-please be respectful of the ice and others
-do NOT use the ice when it is above 0 or below -25 (with the windchill) as this can damage the ice
Supervised public skating will be during the following times:
-Sundays 1-3pm
-Mondays & Wednesdays 6-8pm
We do not have access to the school boot room as in previous years but we will have skate aids available for new/beginning skaters during public skate times.
**⚠️Please, ensure that children are not throwing debris, including snow/snowballs, on the ice surface! Not only does this create more work for our rink guys to clean, but this is a safety hazard because it creates lumps of ice under the surface.**
A huge thank you to Chad Malinowski & Mike McPhail – our “Rink Guys” – for all their hard work in ensuring we continue to have the BEST rink in the city! 👏
